"The PROMISED LAND" A TERRA PROMETIDA

O filme "A terra prometida" (Promissed Land), estrelado por Matt Damon, apresenta o tema das jazidas de

gás natural, como uma grande esperança de salvação financeira para uma pequena cidade norte americana.
Os funcionários da empresa "Global", responsáveis pela negociação e compra das propriedades locais, para eventual perfuração e extração do gás, começam a enfrentar resistência de um suposto ambientalista de uma ONG chamada "Atena".

Com uma fala sentimentalista, o defensor da 'Causa Verde' passa a persuadir a população dos riscos de tal extração. A trama se desenvolve sobre este conflito entre os interesses locais e das multinacionais.

Umas das teses principais levantadas, resume-se num conhecido provérbio: "De boas intenções o inferno está cheio".  

Na crise atual, aonde as ONGS "Verdes", partidos "Ecológicos" se multiplicam acentuadamente, o filme nos leva a refletir sobre como o "mercado" se apodera destas tendências, para manter seu controle 'subliminar' e domínio sobre as massas, com a ideia de que "ao invés de mudar a música é melhor usá-la ao nosso favor".

Com um final imprevisível, para além de todo clichê hollywoodiano, a obra revela como o poder pode comprar 'pessoas chaves' para defender causas opostas. Deixando algumas velhas questões no ar: "Toda pessoa tem um preço?", "A terra prometida será apenas um sonho ou apenas uma possibilidade?
